JOHN II THE GOOD 22 August 1350 - 8 April 1364 The king in armour seated frontally on a gothic throne. He is crowned and dressed in haubert and chain mail. He is armed with a sword and holds the shield of France (last representation of the shield charged with more than three lilies). Around the edge, a polylobe with shamrocks and dots. R/. Cross four-lobed and trefoiled within a quatrefoil floret and canted with four shamrocks dotted. Friedberg 276; Dy 289; Ci 348; Laf 292 Gold shield with chair (3rd issue July 25, 1351). 4,51 g Rare.
