The rug features the characteristic decoration of a verramine carpet: it is enhanced by the mina khani motif (composed of large, rounded daisy-like flowers linked by stems).
This motif is probably a Kurdish interpretation of the herati motif) on an ivory background. A border of successive polychrome octagons surrounds the composition.
One end is probably moldy and/or moth-eaten.
