Afghan carpet (warp, weft and wool pile), last third of the - Lot 300
Afghan carpet (warp, weft and wool pile), last third of the 20th century 115 x 150 cm The rug features the characteristic decoration of a verramine carpet: it is enhanced by the mina khani motif (composed of large, rounded daisy-like flowers linked by stems). This motif is probably a Kurdish interpretation of the herati motif) on an ivory background. A border of successive polychrome octagons surrounds the composition. One end is probably moldy and/or moth-eaten. EXPERT: Alexandre CHEVALIER
