MONTEREAU LL and T (1825/1840) Set of 6 earthenware dessert plates, with black printed decoration on a yellow background on the theme of Greek independence. Decorated with ribbon-tied crowns inscribed with the names "Maulis Byron / Canaris Fabvier / Botzaris Eynard" and Lorraine crosses bearing standards inscribed with the words "Liberté" and "La Croix". Each plate is centered with a captioned scene: - Lord Byron leading a Greek detachment - Turks taking Greek women and children - Turks from Missolonghi to the Breccia - Miaulis taking a Turkish ship". -Constantin Canaris on a firebrand". -Marcos Botzaris in the Turks' camp" (in French) Diameter: 21.5 cm Some in used condition Bibliography: Amandry, A.
