Brown patina bronze medallion featuring Léon PASQUAL "Father of the prisoners of war".

Léon PASQUAL, politician Avesnes town councillor, deputy and then senator, Léon Pasqual was taken prisoner by the Germans in 1914. Freed in 1916, he worked to help prisoners of war in Germany. After the war, he continued this work, earning himself the nickname "Father of the Prisoners".
